LONG-TERM VS. SHORT-TERM ORIENTATION
By Danielle Siggelkow
Mexico and Canada are also fairly similar on Hofstede’s long-term orientation value dimension. Mexico’s score is 24, while Canada’s is 36 (Hofstede Centre, n.d.). According to Hofstede, this low score indicates an importance on customs, tradition and history, and also short-term orientation in regards to saving money. Like Canada, Mexico is a very patriotic country, proud of their heritage and identity (History.com, 2009).
